Happy Friday everyone!

Google’s prestigious Google Science Fair is officially down to the last 15 finalists. These teenagers, ages 13 through 18 are to come up with innovative ideas and submit them. Finalists have been selected by a panel of judges who look at usability, innovation and research as ways to cut down to the final core. Luckily for us, 15 year old Kenneth Shinozuka has invented a low cost wearable sensor specifically for elders with Alzheimer’s disease. Kenneth’s idea is to put a pressure sensor on the heel of a sock, shoe or foot and let that trigger to a primary caregiver’s smartphone…all while using Buletooth’s Low Energy technology of course. Click on the links below to get a more in depth look at what Kenneth is trying to accomplish with his wearable technology solution.

We salute you, young inventor!
